A trio of young actresses portrayed the live-action role of Alice during the original run of Alice in Wonderland in the summer of 2006. Each took the stage on consecutive weekends at the Philadelphia Street Playhouse. |

The performances at
the
Philadelphia Street Playhouse were a rousing success, including the encore
performances during the 2006 New Growth Arts Festival. Thanks go out to the
Indiana Players
for allowing us to be the first performers in their new theater. Those who braved the heat during last summer's Downtown Indiana Kickoff Carnival were treated to a preview performance of Alice in Wonderland as the Mad Tea Party came to life on Philadelphia Street! The cast of Alice in Wonderland also traveled to the Indiana Area Junior High School auditorium for a special presentation for the Life Skills classes from Indiana, Blairsville, and Homer-Center school districts. Not only were the students able to see a live performance of the show, they also met the puppeteers, learned about how the puppets were made, and received performance tips. Lois Rebovich and Lori Dadson, Life Skills teachers from Indiana Area Senior and Junior high schools, received an Education Initiative Grant and decided to use the award toward a professional puppet show because the students from the three districts had been making their own puppets with Armstrong-Indiana Intermediate Unit art teacher Trish Dodson. Read more at the Indiana Gazette. To schedule a performance of the show at your location or for more information, please call 724-349-3928 or e-mail us at info@bloominpuppets.com. |
